About my Classes and Workshops

As both an artist and a teacher my goal is to suppport you in making your art YOUR way - with confidence, ease and fulfilment. I believe in  encouragement and freedom of self-expression. My objective is to make you feel safe and enthused to discover and develop your own artistic and creative gifts.

My approach is to simplify and have fun. There is so much information available to us as artists but it is sometimes overwhelming. I see my job as simplifying this information, breaking it down and making it easier to remember. I do this through demonstrations, presentations, exercises, handouts and plenty of time to paint at each class. I consider it a privilege to pass on what I know about painting and drawing.

I offer classes and one day workshops in my home town of Wymondham in Norfolk.

These acrylic painting classes meet once a week on Friday mornings and are suitable for artists of any level. The programme for the classes is designed to suit both the student who needs structure and the student who likes some freedom in their painting.

Each class is limited to twelve students and is taught on a 'one to one' basis dependent on the student's needs. Some students wish to learn basic painting techniques, others have personal projects that they wish to progress and need help with.

ONE DAY WORKSHOPS 2020 - Content to be announced.

February 29, May 2, June 27, October 3, November 28

My workshops focus on developing drawing and painting skills, finding strong compositions and expressive uses of materials and colour. They take place in a relaxed atmosphere which gives beginners confidence while enabling the more advanced painter to use my wealth of experience as a sounding board for different approaches.  Participants should expect to come away from each workshop with fresh ideas as well as a renewed enthusiasm and creative drive. They are suitable for artists of all levels and are tailored to the group’s requests and needs. They include some or all of the following dependent on specific workshop content:

  • Demonstrations and lectures

  • Visual aids and handouts

  • Exercises designed to address the specific workshop topics.

  • Individual assistance at the easel with plenty of painting time.

Cost: £45.00 per person per workshop. Tea, coffee and cake are included, bring your own lunch. Simply email me in the first instance to reserve your place on any, or all, of these workshops.
